This day long event featured a panel of expert speakers and interactive workshops that attracted mediation professionals, attorneys, and a community of individuals interested in furthering the benefits of and a resource for conflict resolution.

Phil Weiser is the 39th Attorney General of Colorado. As the state’s chief legal officer, Weiser is committed to protecting the people of Colorado and building a law office that will serve all Coloradans effectively. Previously, Weiser served as a Professor of Law and Dean of the University of Colorado Law School, where he founded the Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship. Weiser held senior leadership positions in the Obama administration, appointed to serve as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice and as Senior Advisor for Technology and Innovation at the White House’s National Economic Council.  Earlier in his career, Weiser co-chaired the Colorado Innovation Council and served in President Bill Clinton’s Department of Justice. After graduating law school, he worked in Denver for Judge David Ebel on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and held two clerkships at the United States Supreme Court, for Justices Byron White and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Phil lives in Denver with his wife Dr. Heidi Wald, and their two children.

Regan Byrd is an award-winning anti-oppression activist, speaker, and trainer who has trained dozens of organizations on anti-oppression and allyship, including the Sierra Club, the Colorado Democratic Party and Denver Public Schools. Regan is also a seasoned nonprofit professional with over 13 years of experience in grassroots and social justice non-profit organizations. She has participated in various expert panels on topics ranging from transformative justice to the history of police, to housing justice. Regan is known for her  empathy, humor, and surgical precision in
discussing typically difficult topics.

Chuck Dyer spent 46 years as an aviator and union leader. He retired as an International Captain from FedEx Express in late 2018, where he had served as Chairman of the FDX Master Executive Council of the Air Line Pilots Association. Spending more than a decade of his early Air Line career as a Professional Standards mediator, he embraced the lessons of conflict resolution, and this experience guided his vision for leadership and organizational development. Chuck is now the owner of Protean Conflict Solutions, LLC and serves as a mediator, Large Group Facilitator, Conflict
Coach and Consultant.

Mary Zinn is currently co-producer of the podcast Well, That Went Sideways! She was president of Zinn Mediation Associates, 2005 to 2020. Mary has 30 years of experience in Dispute Resolution as a practitioner, trainer, administrator, and curriculum designer. She was a leader of the Conflict Resolution Month in Colorado campaign (every October) for 15 years. She coproduced a radio program on Conflict Resolution at KGNU, Boulder. She envisioned and funded Talking It Out: Getting to Agreement, a unique photo exhibit that highlights stories of Coloradans working together to solve challenging problems. Mary taught communications and skill building for Palestinian, Israeli and American teens with Seeking Common Ground (now Building Bridges). She was a founder of the Colorado Foothills World Affairs Council.
